Community Cleanups!

This is your chance to do something proactive to help our waterways! Litter on school grounds, streets and parks often gets washed into creeks. Join a cleanup and be part of the solution!

LEWISVILLE
9 a.m. - noon, Saturday March 23.

Lewisville's Public Works Department is organizing a community “Clean Sweep” to grab litter before it ends up in local creeks and streams. Meet at the Annex Building, 6510 Shallowford Road, Lewisville. Gloves, vests and bags will be provided. PRE-REGISTER by calling Genevieve Adams at 503-803-8308.

HOBBY PARK CLEANUP with FORBA
2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 24

Join the members of the Forsyth Off-Road Bike Association to help clean Hobby Park, which has small ponds and streams running through it. The park entrance is on West Clemmonsville Road. Sponsored by the Forsyth Off-Road Bike Association and the Winston-Salem Cycling Advocacy Network

CLEMMONS
9 a.m. - noon, Saturday, March 30

Clemmons is looking for groups of energetic people (homeowner associations, school organizations, scout groups, a group of friends, etc.) that are interested in working together to clean up creeks/streams and/or roadways in their neighborhoods. Don’t live near a creek or stream but still want to help? Clemmons will assign you a road to clean up. Individuals and groups can request an area or be assigned a location. Vests and trash bags will be provided. *MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT* with Clemmon’s Stormwater Department at 336-766-9170 by March 26, 2019.

SALEM CREEK WETLAND
9 a.m. - noon, Saturday, March 30

Yadkin Riverkeeper is organizing a cleanup of the wetlands where Salem Creek passes through Civitan Park, next to the Anderson Center at Winston-Salem State University. Park in the lot at the end of Rams Common Drive (off Rams Drive next to U.S. 52) and gather at the footbridge across Salem Creek.

The Great American Cleanup, April 6 in Winston-Salem:  The Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem is coordinated by Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful and is part of the national Great American Cleanup, coordinated annually by Keep America Beautiful. Individuals and groups can request an area to clean or can be assigned to a location. All supplies and lunch will be provided.  Pre-register at www.KWSB.CityofWS.org.
