Learn how to build your own rain gauge to see just how much water you receive, so you'll know how much to save! Gauges will be made from recycled plastic soda bottles, and will be marked for measurement. Appropriate for all ages.

Monday, March 25, 3:30 p.m., Water Ways: Water Wheels (ages 8-14) Learn how a water wheel generates energy, and build a water wheel in the Central Library's Makerspace.
Wednesday, March 27, 4 p.m., Solar Cars Workshop (Ages 7-11). Learn about the challenges that current emissions pose to air quality and health, how these pollutants enter our water supply, and then make the ultimate emissions-free car by building and testing a miniature solar powered vehicle. This program will be presented by the Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance & Protection. No Registration required.
Thursday, March 28, 11 a.m., Water, Water Everywhere Storytime (Ages 2-6) A storytime where children will learn the importance of clean water with a craft to follow. No registration required.
Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m., Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Storytime (Children all ages welcome). Children will learn about recycling and decorate their own reusable bags to make the connection to littering, creek clean-up, and sustainability. Program presented by the Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection. No registration required.

Thursday, March 28, 3:30 p.m., Enviroscape. Come learn about our local watershed using a using a 3D model. The Enviroscape is a hands-on activity model that allows youngsters to spray "rain" over a model and see what happens when the rainwater picks up contaminants from fields, buildings and parking lots as if flows into our streams. This program is by the Lewisville Public Works Department. Recommended for elementary school-aged children.

Saturday, March 30, 2:30 p.m., Stormy Saturday: Come rain or shine to learn about rain, drains and how we can sustain our local waterways! Hanna Miller from City of WS Storm Water Erosion Dept. will be presenting an enviroscape and storm drain model about how rain water and run off effects our city and environment. She will also be bringing the mudpuppies model for our younger friends (1st grade and under). The program is designed for elementary school age and younger children and will include a brief story time!
