Planting Party at the Park

Last’s year’s planting party at Fourth of July Park

Last’s year’s planting party at Fourth of July Park

Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. - Noon
Ivey Redman Park, 788 Beeson Road, Kernersville

Join the planting party and help make the park beautiful with native, shade-loving plants. N.C. State staff will lead a small, hands-on demo about shovel-grading and stabilizing creek banks.

Volunteers may plant as few or as many plugs, small containers and sticks we’ll hammer into the ground. These native plants are greatly needed to improve water quality, stabilize soil and provide quality habitat for our native birds, pollinators and amphibians. Dress as you would for gardening. Tools will be available but you can bring your own gloves, mallet, trowel or shovel.

Pre-registration not necessary, but requested to ensure enough materials are on-hand. For more information and to pre-register, contact Wendi Hartup at whartup@toknc.com or 336-564-1613.  Meet by the stormwater pond with the dragon fly sign.
