Saturday, April 1, 9 a.m. - Noon
This is your chance to do something proactive to help our waterways! Litter on school grounds, streets and parks often gets washed into creeks. As part of Creek Week, clean-ups will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 1 in Winston-Salem, Clemmons, and Lewisville. It's a great way to earn service hours!
- The Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem: The Winston-Salem cleanup is coordinated locally by Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful and is part of the national Great American Cleanup, coordinated annually by Keep America Beautiful. Individuals and groups can request an area to clean or can be assigned to a location. All supplies and lunch will be provided. Pre-register at www.KWSB.CityofWS.org.
- Clemmons: Clemmons is looking for groups of energetic people (homeowner associations, school organizations, scout groups, a group of friends, etc.) that are interested in working together to clean up creeks/streams in their neighborhoods. Don’t live near a creek or stream but still want to help? Clemmons will assign you a road to clean up. Individuals and groups can request an area or be assigned a location. Vests and trash bags will be provided. Pre-register with Clemmon’s Stormwater Department at 336-766-9170.
- Lewisville: Lewisville Public Works is organizing a community clean-up to spruce up the town and keep trash from washing into local streams and stormdrains. Sign up by calling 336-945-1025.
