Rain barrels are perfect for small gardens and container plants. Set one up to conserve water, save money, and help keep our streams clean!

Rainwater harvesting has many benefits including water conservation, the potential to lower municipal water bills, and a chemical-free source of water for gardens. An even bigger benefit is the potential to reduce water pollution of our streams and rivers through the reduction of stormwater runoff. Join Rebecca Craps, Natural Resources and Environmental Systems Agent for N.C. Cooperative Extension and Andy Szabat, Sr. Community Educator for the City of Winston-Salem to learn about the application, design, installation, safety and maintenance of rain barrels and small cisterns.

A PowerPoint presentation will be followed by the DIY rain barrel class.

Registration is REQUIRED. One rain barrel per household. Register here

FOLKS WITHOUT A TICKET WILL BE TURNED AWAY FROM THE DIY CLASS.
